Paranormal News of the Week
Giant Python Swallows Indonesian Farmer
A farmer has been found inside the belly of a giant python after the animal was caught near where he vanished while harvesting his crops in Indonesia. The body of Akbar, 25, was discovered inside the seven-metre (23ft) snake after villagers used an 18-inch-long knife to cut open its stomach, when it had been spotted slithering awkwardly in Salubiro village, on the eastern island of Sulawesi, on Monday.
“We were immediately suspicious that the snake had swallowed Akbar because around the site we found palm fruit, his harvesting tool and a boot,” said Junaidi, a senior village official.
Worried relatives launched a search for Akbar after he did not return home from the family’s plantation on Sunday. Junaidi said the snake had swallowed the farmer whole, adding that it was the only such fatality recorded in the region. This kind of python, which regularly exceeds 20ft, is commonly found in Indonesia and the Philippines. While the serpents have been known to attack small animals, attempts to eat people are rare.

Expanded Perspectives: Frederick Valentich
On this week’s installment of Expanded Perspectives the guys start the show off talking about how a mysterious half-naked ‘tribesman’ was seen running down a dirt track in Indonesia by a group of bikers. Then, Lon Stricker over at Phantoms & Monsters recently reported on a very unusual sighting a woman had in Cabell County in West Virginia. According to the witness, this winged creature resembled a giant 4 foot tall Wasp with glowing orange eyes! Then, one of Japan’s biggest tech companies, Rakuten, announced it was forming a joint venture with the American startup AirMap. The goal is to develop a robust traffic management system for unmanned aerial vehicles, allowing large numbers of drones to operate autonomously in the same airspace.
After the break Kyle brings up one of Australia’s most famous Alien Abduction cases “The Mysterious Disappearance of Frederick Valentich”. On the evening of October 21, 1978, a 20-year-old Australian pilot flew a familiar route from Melbourne airport to King Island. From all reports, it wasn’t a difficult one. But for the young Frederick Valentich, whatever happened while flying over the Bass Strait proved fatal. He never came home, and his body was never recovered. Was it an Alien Abduction or simply pilot error?
Astonishing Legends: Flight 19 (Part 2)
At approximately 6:00 p.m. on 5 December 1945, an HF/DF signal fix was obtained for Flight 19, placing its location somewhere within a 100-mile radius off the east coast of Florida, but that would be the last trace of the squadron’s existence. It wouldn’t be the last tragedy of this story. Around 7:27 p.m., two Martin Mariner rescue planes were launched from NAS Banana River, FL to conduct a search. Three minutes later, one of the planes, PBM-5 “Squadron Training No. 49” would send its “out report” over the radio, but it too would never be heard from again. About 20 minutes later, a tanker cruising in the area, the SS Gaines Mills would report seeing an apparent explosion, with flames leaping 100 feet high and lasting for 10 minutes in the vicinity of where PBM-5 should have been. The ship would search for survivors or floating wreckage but would find only a pool of oil and it is believed all 13 crew members aboard PBM-5 perished in that explosion. At least with PBM-5, there is a likely explanation of their fate but with Flight 19, to this day there is none to be had. The lingering question may sound simplistic, but it can be put before every speculative answer ranging from the commonplace to the paranormal — “Where did they go?”
