Greetings, and welcome to The /x/ Files, the weekly news digest for 4chan’s Paranormal board. Every Sunday, we take a quick snapshot of the mysterious world around us and bring it, in an easily readable magazine format, to the board. I am The Editor, the anonymous creator of this idea and collector of the news that will be following below. In the interests of legitimacy, I will be using a secure tripcode to post the thread; once the posts are completed, I will take the tripcode off and return to my anonymity.
Not much goings on in the weird world this week, but there was a couple of huge-ass earthquakes in Japan this week, which caused some high strangeness in the form of foam overflowing the streets of Fukuoka.

Paranormal News of the Week
Strange Foam Fills Streets After Japan Quake
Residents of Fukuoka were perplexed when a thick layer of foam started to engulf the city’s streets. The peculiar substance turned up on the city’s roads and pavements in the early hours of Saturday, April 16th, following a magnitude 7.0 earthquake which shook the entire Kumamoto region, and which ocurred just two days after an earlier magnitude 6.5 quake had struck the same area.
At least 41 people were killed in the two quakes, in the space of two days. The second quake triggered landslides, damaged hundreds of homes and knocked out power to at least 200,000 people. A small eruption of Mt. Aso, the largest active volcano in Japan, also ocurred in conjunction with the second quake. The Japanese government issued a tsunami warning after the quake, but was soon cancelled.
Rescue crews and 20,000 troops have been deployed to rescue survivors and stabilize infrastructure, though rescuers fear more landslides are possible with additional rains on the way. More than 2,000 people were hospitalized, and almost 100,000 people spent the rest of the night outdoors, with water, power, and gas services disrupted by the event. One village had to be completely evacuated after a nearby dam burst. Although a nuclear station is in the effected area, reports claim it suffered no damage.
Japan’s seismology office reported that some areas within the quake zone experienced similar intensity to the 2011 earthquake, which caused a tsunami and the subsequent nuclear meltdown at the Fukushima power plant, from which the country has not yet fully recovered.

Giant Stone Sphere Found in Bosnian Forest
The huge sphere, which measures around 5ft across, is thought to be evidence of an ancient civilization. Discovered near the Bosnian town of Zavidovici, the peculiar object has caught the attention of archaeologist Semir Osmanagic whose previous efforts to uncover pyramids in Bosnia’s Visoko Valley back in 2005 have earned him something of a reputation as a real-life Indiana Jones. The newly unearthed sphere, far from being a unique specimen, is actually believed to be one of a large collection of similar artifacts found scattered throughout the region over the centuries.
This conclusion, however, is far from unanimous: several dissenting voices have been raised, including Anthony Harding, the president of the European Association of Archaeologists. “There is some genuine archaeology on the hill and I’m told it’s medieval, possibly Bronze Age or Roman,” Said Harding, “But the speculation that there could be a 12,000-year-old structure beneath is a complete fantasy and anyone with basic knowledge of archaeology or history should recognise that.” And scientists have posited that the spheres might be made by nature in a process known as concretion, a semi-frequent geological ocurrence made famous by the Moeraki Boulders of New Zealand and Bowling Ball Beach in the United States.
